Amy Henderson Trio is a collaboration of Amy Henderson (accordion & vocals) Dagger Gordon (mandolin & citern) and Colin Delmonte (percussion& whistle). Performing a mixture of traditional music and their compositions forms a balance of both old and new. Their blend of instruments and individual styles brings a warmth and energy to the room, creating an enjoyable ambiance for all An accordionist and singer, Amy is based in the Highlands of Scotland. In 2017 she realised her debut album ‘Soul for a Compass’ which includes many of her own compositions. In addition to performing, Amy is in demand as both an accordion tutor and a workshop leader in community music setting.
Glasgow based folk trio ‘Assynt’ are former BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year finalists, Graham Mackenzie (fiddle) and David Shedden (pipes/whistles) alongside BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Innes White (guitar/mandolin). 2018 saw the official launch of the band, the release of their debut album ‘The Road to the North’ and were awarded ‘Up and Coming Artist of the Year’ at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. Inspired by the great piping, fiddle and Gaelic traditions of the Highlands of Scotland, Assynt’s self penned melodies are “refreshingly contemporary” (Folk Radio UK) while remaining true to the music traditions they are rooted in. Building on their acclaimed debut album, the band’s second studio release is due Summer 2021.
