Dàna

Dàna are a new and exciting all-female band in their final year studying traditional music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The band's name, meaning 'bold' or 'audacious' in Gaelic, perfectly encapsulates their vibrant sound and approach to performance. Dàna have spent the past few years creating music together, bringing music from each of their respective home areas - Knoydart, Oban, Campbeltown, Edinburgh and Wales. Being immersed in the Glasgow traditional music scene, the girls are driven and eagerly anticipate introducing their traditional and folk arrangements to a wider audience in the coming months. The band consists of fiddle, clarsach, piano, whistle and bagpipes.
