Rachel Hair and Ron Jappy

Electrifying duo Rachel Hair and Ron Jappy twin Scotland’s oldest instrument, the clarsach (Scottish harp), with and one of its newest instruments, the acoustic guitar. Performing an exquisite mix of Scottish traditional music, they balance virtuosity with emotion to captivating results. Originally paired for a short tour of Europe, their musical chemistry was apparent from the outset and they have since gone on to tour the US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Their latest album Élan was described as “an energising, inspiring and precious delight” (Folk Radio).

Hailing from a home where the sounds of Queen, Carole King and Billy Joel reverberated through the walls, Grayling began her career busking on the banks of Loch Lomond and now spends her time writing from her flat in Glasgow, leading songwriting workshops and gigging with friends and bandmates around Scotland. Her fresh take on classic americana is inspired by Patsy Cline, Courtney Marie Andrews and Gillian Welch and has crowned her one of Vic Galloway's (BBC Scotland) 'ones to watch'.
