Fun Palaces
Fun Palaces is a national and international campaign for cultural democracy and community connection, founded in 2013. Fun Palaces core team and Ambassadors (all part-time) support volunteers, grassroots communities, new and established organisations and practitioners across the UK (and beyond) to connect, to celebrate their genius, skills and culture, and, over the Fun Palaces weekend of action (the first weekend of October), to make Fun Palaces - free, local events using arts, craft, science, tech, digital, heritage and sport, as a catalyst to celebrate each unique community and the skills and interests of those who live there.

“Fun Palaces (…) is a campaign or - better - an idea. The idea is that people create culture because it is essential to their being in the world. When it comes to our culture and our needs, each of us is a world expert. Fun Palaces helps us make more of who we are and what we already have.”
Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities – but above all PEOPLE – to work together, create together, have FUN together, and in doing so, contribute to our own communities, from the grassroots up.
At Eden Court we are very proud to host Fun Palaces Ambassador Alis Ballance and Freya Taylor. Together we want to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their strengths.
Alis and Freya work with Eden Court to develop relationships with our communities and to promote and champion the Fun Palaces campaign.
