To get into the spirit of Halloween, we’ve been talking to ushers, duty managers and bar staff here at Eden Court to uncover some spine-tingling moments from when they’ve been carrying out their daily tasks.
1. Newsroom Bar
A large ghost of a man was seen in the back of the Newsroom Bar. He managed to scare the person who was working behind the bar at the time - look out for him the next time you order a drink during an interval.
2. Box Office
A woman was heard crying in the front foyer next to Box Office when the Duty Manager was locking up. She was so convinced that there was someone left in the building that she checked the whole place again.
3. Empire Theatre
Here are just a few of the spine-chilling stories from the Empire Theatre; a couple have been seen standing in the auditorium by our technicians and when checked on by another person they had disappeared, a figure has been seen walking across the stage when there wasn’t a performance on and a small child was spotted standing in the wings during a recent performance. Speak to the Ushers on your next visit to find out more about the ghostly figures and children laughing.
4. Bishops Palace
The Green Lady is the lady that is supposed to haunt the palace and her presence has been felt by many staff over the years. They experience whispering in their ear when locking up, seeing a lady walking across the balcony and doors opening and closing in the chapel. As well as smelling extinguished church candles and seeing a little child walking about the palace carrying a lantern. We dare you to come for a wander and explore.
