Andrew Simpkins
(he/him)Arts Practitioner - TheatreFrom the moment that Andrew starred as a Snowflake at the age of five in his Primary School Christmas play, he was hooked. He fell in love with theatre in every way, watching it, devising it and performing in it. Drama became a huge part of Andrew’s life as he grew older, as it allowed him to express himself and meet other people who were similar. His experiences in Youth Theatre made it clear to him that he wanted his professional life to be in the Performing Arts and so he studied Acting at the University of Central Lancashire. During this time Andrew realised that he had another love and that was through teaching and sharing his knowledge of theatre so that young people could have the same positive experiences as himself. This motivated him to become a Secondary School teacher in North Liverpool and after five years he moved on to work for a charity that used drama to encourage children to read. Eventually, the North wind called and Andrew started his next adventure and moved to Inverness to work for Eden Court where he can pass on his passion and love for theatre.
