Horizons

  • Accessible
  • Drop In Class

Horizons is an inclusive dance group for disabled and non-disabled young people aged 13 – 25 years.

Participants meet monthly to develop their technical dance skills and explore creative movement and choreography. There will be plenty of opportunities for self-expression plus opportunities to perform!

We advise advance booking where possible and ask participants to return the registration form sent after signing up so that tutors have an awareness of any specific needs they can support.

Participation in Horizons is free but ticketed. If you have any questions about the course, please contact Louise Marshall on [email protected].

Class running time: 11.15am-1.15pm

Our subscription option is for the whole term and guarantees your space for the duration of this block. Our drop-in option is available to book a single session from 10am the day before a given class, where spaces are available.

Horizons is being supported this year through the Youth Arts Open Fund and by generous donations from Grain and Grind, Macleod & MacCallum Solicitors and Ravenscourt Guest House.

Volunteer Call Out

We are looking for volunteers between the ages of 15 – 25 years to support this group both in the studio and on stage. You do not need to have any dance experience but be willing to learn and participate fully.

Volunteers will be supported by the class tutor and assistant and an initial training session will be an option if required. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to complete a Youth Scotland Award. In addition, the hours can also be used to contribute to Saltire Awards, Highland Young Leader and Duke of Edinburgh.

If you are someone interested in working with disabled young people and/or theatre and dance this is an ideal opportunity.

If you are interested, please click here to complete our sign-up form by Mon 27 Apr.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please email Louise Marshall, Producer for Dance + Accessible Arts, on [email protected]
