Calling all aspiring performers - here's an exciting opportunity for you!
Eden Court's Engagement team is creating its own Young Company with the aim of devising a piece of professional standard physical theatre to be performed at National Youth Theatre events.
What we're looking for
- 15 dedicated young people aged 14 - 20 (must be 14 by June 2026)
- A mixture of dancers and actors – mixed abilities welcome, but a willingness to work hard and get involved is necessary
- A commitment to two terms of rehearsals, tech and dress rehearsals, and the performances

Open audition - Fri 5 Dec (2.30pm - 5pm)
This will be a free group audition, delivered as a workshop. We will be looking for excellent teamwork, clear commitment and enthusiasm.
Project dates
Rehearsals will take place on Fridays, 2.30pm - 5pm. There will be 20 sessions from 16 Jan - 27 Mar and 24 Apr - 19 Jun.
Eden Court Youth Arts Festival (25 - 29 Jun).
Performance - Light The Blue Festival, Aberdeen (Jun, exact date TBC).
Performance - National Festival of Youth Theatre (3 - 5 Jul).
We will also be applying for the Young Company to perform at an International Youth Theatre Festival in Belgium in Aug 2026.
Cost
£200 (payable in instalments) + fee to attend NFYT (approx. £200 - fundraised as a group).
Fee includes food, workshops with theatre professionals, performances and social events.
If the cost is a potential barrier and you attend any other youth class at Eden Court, you may be eligible for a 50% bursary. Please indicate on the form if you wish to apply for this.
