We announce today that we have now cancelled all live performances currently scheduled until 04 December 2020 with plans in motion for a phased re-opening of cinema and a series of alternative events throughout the remainder of the year.
Today we are announcing that all live performances currently scheduled to take place in the Empire Theatre and OneTouch Theatre before 4 December 2020 have, or are in the process of being, cancelled, postponed or rescheduled. Ticket holders for shows taking place before this date will be contacted by our Ticket Sales team at least one week before they were due to attend their scheduled event.
Our Community Classes programme will not take place for the remainder of 2020.
A further update on our Christmas offer, including our pantomime Cinderella and festive productions for under-5s, will be announced in September.
Under Scottish Government’s current lockdown easing, outdoor music events are still not permitted and as such our award-nominated annual pop-up summer music festival, Under Canvas, will not be able to take place this summer. We are currently investigating what may be possible later in the year.
Whilst we're unable to provide live performance to audiences on our stages at present we will continue to showcase the best arts and culture online. As Scottish Government lockdown easing continues we will explore all the ways possible to get artists and audiences interacting again.
Despite the cancellations announced today, we do intend to begin a phased re-opening of the building to the public from sometime in late September/early October and it is hoped this will include the re-opening of cinemas with social distancing. More information on this to follow in the coming weeks.
Until then, stay in touch with us via our social media channels and we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it is safe to do so.
