For the inaugural Highland Climate Festival we are pleased to be hosting several events between this Sat 25 June – Sun 3 July.
The Highland Climate Festival will celebrate and engage communities throughout the region in climate action. From engaging in simple actions to sharing more significant work through a series of local in person and regional online events.
Eden Court is committed to becoming a more sustainable and environmental organisation in the face of the climate emergency facing the planet. During the Highland Climate Festival, we would love to welcome you to some of the festival’s events here at Eden Court.
Environmental Art Workshop (8 – 16 years)
Tue 28 June 4.30pm – Eden Court Front Lawn
Children and young people aged 8 – 16 are invited to be inspired by nature and to make art with what they find around them in a free workshop.
Climate Conversation Café
Tue 28 June 6.30pm – Eden Court Café Bar
We are hosting a Climate Conversation Café – an opportunity for people to come together for a cuppa, cake, some art and crafting and to share concerns, ideas and initiatives relating to anything to do with the environment and the climate crisis.
Prior to this session, Incredible Edible Inverness will have a stall from 5.30 – 6.30pm in the café bar, sharing information on growing food, samples and free seeds.
Portraits of Recovery Photography exhibition
2 – 30 July
On Sat 2 July, we will be opening a new nature-based photography project by Children and Young People from Invergarry Primary School, Kilchuimen Academy and NHS Highland CAMHS, as part of Affric Highlands Change Makers contribution to the Highland Climate Festival.
12 - 2pm | Family Eco-Art Workshop in the Jim Love Studio Facilitated by local artist Innes Anderson. Includes seed bomb-making workshop with Think Health Think Nature + ecoMountain climate anxiety discussions with Highlife Highland.
2 - 2:30pm | Opening of Portraits of Recovery by Mark 2 - 2:30pm Opening of Portraits of Recovery by Mark Littlejohn and Green Leadership Award launch
2:30 - 4pm | Viewing of exhibition 1st Circle Gallery. Invitations for viewers to offer feedback and reflections. Refreshments
