My name's Deirdre McCrimmon. As the art tutor at Eden Court I'm happily preparing to return to work this week to teach my popular art courses Let's Draw and Let's Paint.

I've been so very lucky this year to have taken 5 months to focus entirely on my own practice and to explore new territories artistically and physically.

As a visual artist it felt so necessary to take a substantial period of time out to feed my own artistic hunger and stoke the creative fires before returning to teach again this Autumn.

As well as two months experimenting and making new work in the studio, I've spent time in India on an ayurvedic yoga and meditation retreat, which was an amazing life experience. I've visited and sketched round some of my very favourite places in Scotland and have also fallen in love with sculpting with clay! Feeling very satisfied and blessed, I'm ready to return to tutoring this week and am looking forward to catching up with my regular students and meeting many new faces along the way.
