We are pleased to announce that theatre producer Susannah Armitage will join Eden Court in a newly created role as a Senior Producer.
Currently Programme Director at the National Theatre of Scotland, Susannah’s previous roles at NTS include Head of Producing and Head of Artistic Development. Prior to this Susannah was the producer for the Award-winning Vox Motus and was also the Producer and latterly Chief Executive for A Play, A Pie and a Pint. This acclaimed lunchtime theatre programme is the most prolific producer of new plays in the UK and Susannah has co-produced and toured work nationally and internationally.
Susannah’s new role will allow Eden Court to continue building its ambition to produce, co-produce and commission its own work in turn helping the organisation to fulfil its mission to bring the world to the Highlands and take the Highlands to the world.
Susannah Armitage said:
“My first experience of professional theatre was attending pantomime at Eden Court and being transported by the experience. Eden Court felt like an important cultural hub to me growing up in the Highlands. Not only did I attend the theatre and cinema regularly but I loved being in the space and feeling like I had a connection to it. I sat my music exams there, performed on the Empire stage as a teenager and developed my love of theatre at the venue. Joining Eden Court at a time of new artistic ambition is very exciting and I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
James Mackenzie-Blackman, Chief Executive of Eden Court said:
“I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to attract Susannah to this important new senior role. It’s a testament to Eden Court’s renewed position within the theatre ecology in Scotland. Susannah has both national and international experience whilst also a deep love and connection to the Highlands making her the perfect candidate for this critical new role.”
