Temple - Soul - Detox, New Works on Paper by artist Deirdre McCrimmon is showing in our Stalls Foyer Gallery from 1 - 28 February.
Deirdre McCrimmon graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in Fine Art in 1992. Having worked in the arts over three decades, she now lives and enjoys her art practice full time in the Scottish Highlands. This show is carefully selected from a large body of work made over the last two years.
"I work in two ways simultaneously, from the humanity of the body and from the stillness of source. These works have been made with enormous love. They have been teased out, sung to, birthed and welcomed into existence. They are agents of organic and natural purification. Largely a show of polarities, my process makes room for creation/destruction and explores both death and birth through many seasons and natural cycles. What happens on the paper is experienced in the body in an authentic flux and flow of mirroring. These shifts in the system can return the self to it's pure and natural state. This, for me, is the magic of the creative process and sacred work."
