Our amazing Under Canvas Bar Sponsor Tomatin Distillery has created a mouth-watering menu of whisky cocktails, served from their pop-up every Friday of the festival!
The team just couldn't resist any longer and had to try them out...
The "Celtic Creation"
Tomatin Cù Bòcan Signature whisky combined with elderflower liqueur, lemon and pineapple juices, Angostura bitters and garnished with pineapple leaf.
I like a peaty whisky so this was my kind of cocktail. It packs a refreshing fruity punch but doesn’t overwhelm or disguise the spirit’s flavour, so you still get a strong, medicinal taste that warms the cockles. Delicious and must surely count as one of your five a day. Four more please!
The "Under Canvas"
Tomatin 12 Year Old whisky, sweet vermouth and ginger beer, served over ice and garnished with a dehydrated orange slice.
I absolutely love that Tomatin have created us our very own festival cocktail! A mule-like drink with a lovely crisp flavour, it's a wee bit smoother than the others on the menu - making it the perfect gateway cocktail for beginner whisky drinkers like myself.
The "Cherry Blossom"
Tomatin Legacy whisky, cherry jam, coconut water and orange blossom, with a garnish of fresh cherry or thyme.
I usually drink my whisky as it comes so I wasn't expecting my favourite to be the sweetest on the menu! This cherry bomb is floral, flavourful and a wee bit sour. Perks you right up after work, ready for a session in the tent!
