Favourite film: Akira

It was the first Japanese anime to use 24 frames per second animation and to bring Japan's animation to the level of Disney's creating fluid movement. I like that nobody could predict how the story would end from the first scene. I also like how the background painting of each shot really brings the city to life and every scene feels lived in. I really recommend watching the 1988 English dubbed version over the original subtitled version.
