Chak is a multi-disciplinary artist from Hong Kong. His relationship with filmmaking is rather intimate. It began with a birthday video that he made for his middle school friend. The ability to bring a smile on someone’s face is what motivates him to create wholeheartedly and his filmmaking approach ties in with his intuition and attentive personality.
The medium of film has been a key communicative and observational tool for him throughout his architectural study and professional practices. It also acts as a personal journal to document his emotions through body movement. His film work has been shortlisted and screened internationally, including by BBC100, CCA Glasgow, SSA Annual Exhibition, Milano Design Film Festival, Venice Architecture Film Festival, LOOP Barcelona, Lund International Architecture Film Festival and TRANSFER Architecture Video Award.
He recently moved to the Highlands to reunite with his partner and intends to further explore the positive effects that filmmaking has on the filmmaker, community and audiences as well as collaborating with different creative sectors at Eden Court.
