Joanna Wojtala
she/herDance AssistantJoanna’s passion for dancing started when she was 7 years old. She was a part of a children’s folk dancing group in the centre of culture in her hometown. At the age of 12 she discovered contemporary dance and joined a new youth dance theatre.
She graduated animation in culture at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. During university she performed in two contemporary dance groups, taking part in many workshops and festivals discovering new dancing techniques.
Joanna volunteered at a few dance festivals in Krakow organised by Krakow Dance Theatre and Krakow Choreographic Centre. After graduating University, she received a job offer from the Choreographic Centre as an office clerk and helped out during different initiatives such as festivals, workshops and performances.
After moving to Scotland Joanna couldn’t find a way back to dancing but in 2021, after moving to Inverness, she started to attend Eden Court’s contemporary dance classes.
From 2023 Joanna has been assisting with the Horizon and Moving Forwards classes. Joanna is trying to encourage people in their dancing development and hopefully ignite the same passion she has.
