Kate O’Connell holds a diploma in theatre from the innovative Dartington College of Arts in Devon and a teaching certificate from Rolle College, Exmouth. She has been a singer all her life. She has a long career around Moray and Highland as a freelance community artist (Drama, Movement, Song) She has played and sung in various ceilidh bands and with a Balkan/ Gypsy/International Folk band. She has organised countless small local festivals and seasonal celebrations, working with a mix of theatre and music.She has taught in schools, set up and run various youth drama groups around Moray, taught voice work/song around Britain and run numerous local choirs and acappella performance groups.
For about the last 15 years she has focussed on the work with choirs and performance groups and currently has 6 groups in the Highlands and Moray, as well as a private practice for voice work and singing. She is particularly interested in the healing/ nourishing aspects of the voice and song and is very excited to be working at Eden Court, in a stimulating creative environment. Her style is relaxed and encouraging . She is a Black Isle resident.
