Millie Reid
she/herYouth Film AssistantMillie‘s love of film began from a young age, spending hours sat in front of the TV watching countless movies throughout her childhood. With a background in Performing Arts, which she studied at UHI Moray, Millie found the film-based aspects of her courses were where she thrived, later leading her to pursue filmmaking further.
Having made several short films in her spare time, Millie wrote and directed her first professional film through the BFI Film Academy Highlands in 2024, which has led to many opportunities to work on larger-scale projects, including work for Eden Court.
Millie is active in film circles across the north of Scotland and online, working extensively with 48 Hour Film Project, Film Forres and Eden Court‘s Cinema Youth Board. She has also worked in journalism and film criticism, having previously run her own film review blog for several years and working as a freelance journalist for her local newspaper.
If not out working on a new project, you can usually find her watching something wonderfully weird at one of Eden Court‘s cinemas and writing about it online.
