Discover the sounds of Harta, a trio that masterfully weaves together the ancient folk traditions of Scotland and Scandinavia. A captivating exploration of drone and melody, driven by the resonant strings of the nyckelharpa, and the haunting drones of Scottish and Swedish small pipes, and the open sound of the bouzouki, timeless and contemporary. We are based on the Isle of Skye and have been performing and recording together for ten years. Evie Waddell Band

Our band is drawn to Gaelic and Scots songs, old and new. We explore the driving rhythms shared by rap and puirt-a-beul, keeping the spirit of Gaelic forms while pushing them into unexpected places. Our music bridges rural and urban worlds, finding wit, bite, and humour in both. We celebrate folk music as a living conduit for anger, joy, and a little party chaos. Playing together lets us follow whatever each song demands: flashes of pop-punk energy, touches of camp, sincerity, and movement-led storytelling. We hope our work reimagines tradition and contributes to the ongoing evolution of Gaelic culture today.
