Jenny's distinctive songwriting voice alongside Alice's richly textured cello playing creates music that feels both intimate and expansive, weaving instrumental nuance with evocative lyricism. Jenny Sturgeon is an award winning singer-songwriter whose music collaborations include writing and performing in the critically acclaimed alt-folk band Salt House and in the bird and kitchen-disco inspired band, Birdvox. Her music has been played on BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio 2, BBC Scotland, Radio 3 and Radio 4, including being featured on BBC Radio 4 Front Row. Alice Allen is a versatile cellist known for her expressive, genre-crossing approach; blending classical training with folk and improvisation. Alice performs in dynamic trio Lyre and in highly regarded duo Strathspey Queens, with fiddler Patsy Reid. A sought-after collaborator, she brings depth, sensitivity, and a distinctive voice to every project.
