Resident DJs since the very first Under Canvas, Karawane have become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, turning the Eden Court lawn into a joyous dancefloor each and every time.

Karwane brings dancefloor music from around the world: highlife, cumbia, soukous, samba, salsa, funk, reggae, afrobeat, edits and originals to make bodies move and minds travel. Regulars on the Scottish festival circuit, and venues from beach clubs in Andalucia to the late-night clubs of Berlin, the Karawane DJs are constantly on the move, collecting music, and bringing people together.

Joining them on stage is Angela Blackburn, a Colombian DJ, curator and activist based now in Barcelona. Angela is a powerhouse behind the decks, with a deep knowledge of afro-latin music and an infectious energy and passion for immersing herself in the sounds, dances, and the cultural messages embedded in the music she plays.

In Barcelona, Angela is resident DJ in Spain’s oldest and most respected club venue -La Paloma- as well as a frequent guest at festivals and clubs from Romania to Japan. Angela also runs Cultura en Vivo: a cultural platform and magazine, created to increase the visibility of artists and stories related to afro-descendant/diaspora culture, dignify the work of african and latin artists living in Europe, and to change and challenge narratives from an intersectional and antiracist perspective.
