Youth Theatre for 8-10 year olds is all about building the foundations of performance skills. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in games and exercises which explore storytelling, character, and teamwork in an environment where bravery is encouraged.

Drama is an excellent way for young people to build confidence, learn how to work well with others, channel imaginative spirit and make friends.

Term breakdown

Term 1: Mon 24 Aug - Mon 5 Oct, Mon 26 Oct - Mon 9 Oct

This term is all about learning performance and storytelling skills. Participants will play games and engage with exercises which allow them to create new characters, stories, and present their ideas to each other.

Term 2: Mon 11 Jan - Mon 8 Feb, Mon 22 Feb - Mon 22 Mar

This term, rehearsals for our show take place. We will perform at Eden Court before the Easter break. This term we will further develop performance techniques as well as gaining understanding of the theatre making process.

Term 3: Mon 12 Apr - Mon 21 Jun

This term, we will continue to develop our performance technique and gain confidence working with scripts as well as improvised stories.
