Pondering about filmmaking as a potential academic progression or career path? Do you have a film idea but need help with execution? This is the place to make films and work collaboratively to learn how to produce a film as a group, following industry procedures and standards in recognised crew roles.

You'll get hands-on experience with real cameras, green screen, and industry-standard editing software - the kind of kit and skills that actually matter when you're stepping into film education or the industry itself.

Term breakdown

Term 1: Mon 24 Aug - Mon 5 Oct, Mon 26 Oct - Mon 9 Oct

This term covers superhero films, POV films, and animation, giving participants a solid grounding in both creative storytelling and visual techniques. The term rounds off with a free project, where participants can apply everything they've learned to an idea of their own choosing.

Term 2: Mon 11 Jan - Mon 8 Feb, Mon 22 Feb - Mon 22 Mar

This term covers music videos, sound design, and monster movies, giving participants a broad range of filmmaking styles and technical skills to explore. The term concludes with a free project, giving participants the freedom to take their skills in whatever direction they choose.

Term 3: Mon 12 Apr - Mon 21 Jun

This term covers animation, After Effects, and chase scenes, giving participants a solid grounding in both creative storytelling and technical skills. The term closes with a free project, where participants are encouraged to bring an idea of their own to life.
