Meet our Youth Board

Where are our past members now?

Jotham (Film and Television, Edinburgh College of Art)

You should become a member because... you love movies! Because you want to be around the many other creative young people who love them too. On the Youth Board you can gain confidence, community and feel heard in a space that thrives on your ideas. If you find yourself experiencing stories so incredible that they stick with you, long after the credits roll, then come on - why not share them with the rest of us? I’ll be forever indebted to Eden Court for the time I spent there, the people I met and the experience I gained.

Charlotte (Art and Design, University of Dundee)

I loved the experience as I met so many other people with similar interests, had access to lots of workshops and was introduced to a large range of films that I wouldn't ever have watched by myself.

Joe (Psychology with Film Studies, University of St Andrews)

The Eden Court Cinema Youth Board gives you access to lots of exciting opportunities in Scotland’s film circles - networking, screenings, talks, work opportunities... You also get to provide real input into Eden Court’s film programme, through writing blog posts, reviews and even programming screenings. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to be involved in the local film scene to join.

Callum (Television, City of Glasgow College)

You should become a member because... it gave me the opportunity to promote what I love to my peers. I got to programme a film, go to events and join a welcoming community of people who share my passion. Joining the Youth Board isn't just an opportunity to get access to events, it's an opportunity to create the events and have your voice heard.

Keri (Creative Producer, Astar Media)

Being part of Eden Court Cinema's Youth Board has been an invaluable experience in my professional development. Through industry events, exclusive screenings, and opportunities to connect with others working across the film and media sector, I gained insights into the industry that have significantly shaped my career journey.

Since departing the Youth Board, I have taken the next step in my career as a Creative Producer at Gàidhlig media agency Astar Media. The skills, confidence, and industry awareness I gained through my time at Eden Court have been instrumental in preparing me for this role, and continue to influence how I approach my work today.
