We are delighted to announce that our two Festive Artists in Residence are Laura Walker and Jessica Deigan. The brief for these artists was to pitch ideas for festive pieces of work that could attract different audiences to Eden Court’s usual festive programming. Both artists have come up with wonderfully different and creative approaches to this brief.
Laura Walker is working on Folklore and Yuletide, a new devised show that uses local histories and mythology to explore intersectionality and belonging during the festive season.
During this residency, Laura is devising a solo performance which will use elements of physical theatre and puppetry. Laura is seeking an Emerging Performer as part of this process. If you are interested in finding out more, please download the below PDF.

Jessica Deigan is working on a film script called High Land that is set in Inverness over the winter period and which centers around a group of young people whose lives are impacted by drug abuse.
Our Festive Artists in Residence are funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Arts Fund: Bursary Programme.
